Our Standard
We don’t just list food. We evaluate it.
Verum is a filter. Products arrive as candidates. They leave as a short, scored catalogue, or they don’t leave at all.
01
Ingredients
What goes into the product?
We read the back of the pack first. Named ingredients, absence of cosmetic additives, and lists a home cook would recognise score higher than flavour systems and bulk fillers.
02
Processing
How is it made?
Cold-pressed, stone-milled, cultured, roasted, slowly aged. Method is not a marketing story for us, it is a scoring axis. Aggressive refining, hidden blending and heat damage pull a product down.
03
Transparency
Can we understand what we’re buying?
Origin, mill, harvest, herd or estate should not be a treasure hunt. If a brand will not say, the score says so.
04
Sourcing
Where does it come from?
Named belts and producers beat anonymous commodity blends. We prefer shorter, clearer supply stories. Indian where the food is Indian.
05
Quality
Does it meet our internal standards?
Texture, freshness window, packaging that protects rather than merely decorates. We do not list a product until we would cook with it ourselves.
06
Taste
Does better food actually taste better?
A clean label that is bland is still a miss. Our kitchen team tastes. Scoring is not only chemistry, it is whether someone would buy it twice.
